Finally, the high-end brand, Apple, which has been missing from the UAE market for years, is soon going to open its first two outlets in UAE, with one being in the swankiest city, Dubai.
Although the company has been doing business in the Middle-East through well-known resellers for years, it didn’t have any official outlet of its own. It was mainly because the strict laws of the country on foreign ownership. At last, the government of UAE has granted, Apple, exemption from its foreign ownership laws, and hence the official Apple store.
Rumors have it that Apple – like other brands – always wanted to introduce its presence in the UAE markets first. However, the UAE wasn’t the one to get the honor of being the first Middle-East region to boast an Apple Outlet as the crown went to Turkey when it opened its Apple Store on April, 2014.
Apple Stores are slated to open on October 29, 2015 with one store in the Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi while the second store in the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. The opening isn’t the main reason why the country, UAE, or its consumers are so hyped about, but it is the location of the store, i.e., in Dubai, which is said to be the world’s largest that consumers have ever seen.
Apple took the heart of the UAE users by storm by welcoming them in an Arabic style using beautiful Arabic calligraphy that is saying “Marhaba” that means “Welcome”. The Arabic calligraphic greeting says a lot about Apples understanding of its users’ preference.
The opening ceremony will be held at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirate around 4 p.m. local time, which will then be followed by Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall ceremony at 7 p.m.
